The Muslim Center of Greater Princeton (MCGP) is pleased to invite applications for the 2025-2026 Scholarship Program. We believe that education is not just a personal achievement but a powerful way to grow, serve others, and become a leader in your community.
This scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate academic promise, strong character, and a deep commitment to making a positive difference. We aim to help you continue your studies without being held back by financial barriers, inspired by the Prophetic guidance: “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

Who is Eligible?
- Community: Applicant must be a member of the community within a 25-mile radius of MCGP.
- Residency: Must be a U.S. resident or permanent resident.
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited high school, college, or university.
- Academics: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Financial Need: Must demonstrate genuine financial need. Priority will be given to families with a combined annual income of less than $75,000.
- Character: Must demonstrate strong moral character, with no history of serious disciplinary actions or criminal convictions.
Application Checklist

Personal Statement (500-750 words)
Your essay should cover your academic and career goals, how financial need impacts your education, and how you plan to serve the community after completing your studies.

Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
At least one letter must be from a mentor, teacher, or community leader who can speak to your character and conduct.

Official Academic Transcript(s)
Must show a minimum 3.3 GPA. A competitive SAT/ACT score is also strongly recommended for undergraduates.

Proof of Financial Need
This includes your FAFSA Student Aid Report, your family's most recent tax return, and an official financial aid letter from your school.
Our Selection Process & Award
- Review: The Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications submitted by the deadline.
- Interview: Finalists will be required to participate in an in-person interview to make a final decision.
- Award: The scholarship is intended to cover a substantial portion of tuition. The committee's decisions are final.
- Community Commitment: If selected, scholarship recipients will be required to complete at least 20 hours of community service with MCGP during the award year.
Our Commitment to Opportunity
Our goal is to ensure that students with the highest need have meaningful access to this opportunity. The committee gives special consideration and priority to applicants who face significant barriers to education, including:
- Orphans
- Children from single-parent households
- Refugees
- First-generation college students
- Candidates who have overcome challenging personal or socioeconomic circumstances
Applications from female students are particularly encouraged to help promote gender equity in educational opportunities.
